St. Alexander Catholic School Second Grade Overview
I believe that teaching is a vocation, a vocation given to us by God. Our Lord Jesus Christ called each of us by name and commanded us to “Go, teach all nations.” Each and every classroom presents a unique community of learners, not only in abilities, but in learning styles. I believe that each and every child was created to bring something unique and beautiful to the world. As an educator I try to help my students develop their God given potential. I believe in them as God’s capable creation. I assist the children in discovering how wonderful and special they are, and repeatedly remind them how much God loves them. My curriculum involves integrated units, projects, group and individual work and lots of hands- on learning in order to help the students become active learners, who are also caring, respectful, and active members of society.
